estate agents will tell you that the fourth most important thing about a
house is the impression made by the front door. Not surprisingly, there are
interesting entrances to be found on our modern homes, worthy of
consideration as a special topic.

Striking and stylish design on this front door suggests period-trendy
features within, on the otherwise reserved exterior of this Pierson home.

Double front entry doors are a fairly common feature on even modest-- maybe
the most modest--Pierson homes. My guess: this was an effective device to
add a sense of luxury to entry level homes. Like many, this entry has
been dressed up with some applied moldings, just like garage doors.
